Congratulations on beginning your musical journey!
All students are welcome, from beginner to advanced, ages 8 and up.
All styles are taught from Rock, Jazz, Folk, Roots, Heavy Metal, Fingerstyle, just to name a few.
Whether you want to start a young one in music, improve on your rock licks, or jam with friends at the campfire, our teachers are happy to help.
Practice Tip For Success
Research shows that short, frequent practice results in optimal learning. For example 15 minutes a day is better then one hour the night before your lesson. As the student's skills improve, Brian can make each music lesson fresh and engaging, with new material each week, and the student will become a better player in no time! If the student is having difficulty with practicing at home, please don’t hesitate to talk to your teacher. We are more than happy to talk to you about setting up a practice schedule and showing you what/how to practice.
Cancellations:
Student cancellations:
Due to the high volume of students, students are asked to consider carefully which time-slot they would like to sign up for, as it will not be possible to change time-slots within the month that they have paid dues.
Since the time-slot has been reserved in advance, the studio cannot offer refunds or make-up lessons for cancelled or missed lessons.
Teacher cancellations:
If a teacher needs to cancel a lesson, the teacher will notify the family by 12 noon of that day. A make up lesson will be scheduled at a later date.
Inclement Weather:
A decision will be made by 12 noon on the day of inclement weather regarding whether the studio will shut down that day. Families will be notified at that time if the studio will be shut down for their lesson. (Please share your home, work, mobile phone numbers and email address with us to ensure that we can notify you). If you do not receive a call/message, assume we are still open. Cancelled lessons due to inclement weather/’acts of God’ are not entitled to make-up lessons.
Holidays:
Brian Baker’s Guitar Studio observes the following holidays (there will be no lessons offered on these days):

Summer Schedule: The Studio is closed July 10th, 11th, August 7th and 8th.
If your lesson time falls on a holiday, fee reductions and/or make-up lessons for the month cannot be offered.
Recitals:
This year, we are offering the opportunity for students of all ages to participate in both Christmas and year end recital. These are not mandatory. However, we encourage students to sign up to get some performance experience and have some fun playing music with others. Recitals are also a great motivational tool when practicing and setting goals for learning. The recitals will be relaxed and fun; with snacks/refreshments and time to get to know each other at the end. Parents are welcome to attend.

Please be patient if we do not answer our phone or email messages right away. The music instructor may be with a student. However, messages are checked on a regular basis and the music instructor will make every attempt to return your message within 24 hours.
